Importance of Car Insurance (Voluntary Insurance)
Car insurance is precisely for "what if" situations.
No matter how safely you drive, accidents can happen unexpectedly. There are numerous accidents, such as rear-end collisions or head-on collisions, that are difficult to prevent. In the event of a traffic accident, the owner and driver of the vehicle are liable for compensating the victims for damages. The at-fault party may face great difficulties in fulfilling their responsibility. It is essential to be prepared and ensure that you have car insurance coverage.

Types of Car Insurance (Voluntary Insurance)
There are two types of car insurance: Compulsory Automobile Liability Insurance (CALI) and voluntary insurance.
CALI is mandatory when registering a vehicle or during vehicle inspections, and it is often referred to as compulsory insurance. However, its coverage is limited to personal injury compensation in accidents. This may be insufficient as insurance coverage in case of an unfortunate event. It is advisable to enroll in voluntary insurance and create a comprehensive plan that suits your needs.

If an accident occurs...
If you are currently involved in an accident, you may feel confused and unable to understand what happened in the moment. If the accident is significant, there may be little you can do, but if the injuries are minor, you need to take action immediately after the accident. First, try to calm down and stay composed, then follow these steps:
①
If there are injured individuals, provide first aid and arrange for an ambulance. Even if the injuries are minor, seek medical attention.
②
Ensure safety to prevent any secondary accidents caused by the initial accident. Alert the following vehicles about the accident and move the vehicles to a safe location.
③
Contact the police to fulfill your legal obligations and obtain a traffic accident certificate, which will be necessary for filing an insurance claim later.
④
Verify the other party's identity. If possible, ask to see their driver's license and confirm their address, name, and contact information. It's also a good idea to obtain contact information from any eyewitnesses.
⑤
Contact your insurance company. Notify the insurance company or agent you are enrolled with. Even if you are at fault in the accident, avoid making any promises of compensation on the spot.
